Athlete Registrations and Fees Throughout Website

We are striving to become more efficient in the way we do things, and with the large number of athletes we cater for, it was high time to update our website and use it to its fullest.

As such this season all registrations need to be made online and payments made through internet banking.  We have allowed the period  from 16 October through to 11 November  2011 to do this.  Our first Club Night is on 2 November 2011 for 5 yrs and over.   Uniforms can be viewed and purchased at this time using cash/cheque only.

Age Flashes will be issued to athletes once we have reconciled registrations and payments.

Fees

Fees remain unchanged this 2011/2012 Season.  There has been a small increase in the amount we pay to Athletics Waikato/Bay of Plenty for each athlete.  As a club we have decided to absorb this increase this season, however as a Non Profit Community Club, we are reliant on volunteers and need your help.

Helpers

It is expected that parents help on club nights, eg raking long jump pit, recording, measuring, judging etc at various events.  We need this help to keep all events running smoothly.  You will be shown what to do and it’s a great way to get to know other parents.  We require your children to be supervised with an adult on club nights (no matter what age!).  Parents, please don’t just drop your children off then leave!

Age Flashes

We encourage children to wear club uniforms on club nights.  Age flashes are used to identify children and their age clearly.  These need to be SEWN onto club singlet/t-shirt (not pinned).  It is a MUST that age flashes be on club singlet/t-shirt for children 5 yrs and above on club nights, because it helps us to record points for the year.  They are also a requirement at Ribbon Days and are used by all clubs in New Zealand.

Regulation plain blue shorts are also required when competing at Ribbon Days.  Officials will not allow children to compete if these are not regulation.

Ribbon Days

These are competitions held most Saturdays during the season and are open to any registered child in the Club.  Open to 2-14 yrs and are held in the Waikato/Bay of Plenty Areas except for Jennings Cup.  (Information and dates are found in Calendar of Events).

Ribbons are awarded for placings, and most children win at least one.  These are free events – just turn up with your picnic for the day and your sunscreen.  Start time is usually 10am, and under fives are usually finished by lunchtime.
